Yen Press Licenses Four Child Life Kids Novel Series

Yen Press announced on Wednesday that it has licensed Four Child Life, a novel series by author Himari Hino and illustrator Oriko Sakura. It is coming to the publisher’s JY for Kids middle grade imprint on April 14, 2026.

The story follows Mifu Miyabi, who spent twelve years believing she had no family at all. Then her world turns upside down when she learns she is one of quadruplets, and three identical sisters she never knew about suddenly appear. Having grown up apart, the four now have to learn how to live together under one roof and discover how different they really are.

Hino and Sakura first launched the light novel series in October 2018, and it has grown steadily since, reaching its 21st volume in Japan on July 9. A manga adaptation has also been running in Kadokawa’s Comptiq magazine since February 2021, with its fifth volume out on July 10.

Alongside this license, Yen Press shared that audiobooks are on the way for several other titles, including My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected, the cozy Banished from the Hero’s Party series, and Monsterholic, all due in April 2026.

My take: A warm story about siblings finding each other later in life is such a comforting idea, and it is lovely to see Yen Press building out its books for younger readers.
