The Other Worlds Books Depend on the Bean Counter Anime Adds Four Cast Members

The official website for the Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai anime, known in English as The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter, has announced four new cast members. The series is a boys love fantasy light novel adaptation scheduled to begin broadcasting in January 2026.

The newly announced cast includes Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Yurius, Yuuna Kamakura as Yua Shiraishi, Takaaki Torashima as Ist, and Yuuki Ono as Siegvold. Yuuki Ono is well known to anime fans from roles in Hataraku Maou-sama! and other popular series.

The anime is directed by Shinji Ishihira at Studio Deen, with Yoshiko Nakamura handling series composition and Maki Fujii on character design. Megumi Oohashi is composing the music. The source material was written by Wakatsu Yatsuki, who originally began the boys love fantasy story on Shousetsuka ni Narou in March 2018 before it was picked up for a light novel release by Enterbrain.

My take: The bean counter premise has always been one of the more original takes on the isekai setup. Sending an accountant into a fantasy world and watching them apply real world financial logic to magical bureaucracy is genuinely funny and surprisingly touching. The cast additions look strong and January 2026 is shaping up to have some real variety in its anime lineup.
