29 Year Old Adventurer Anime Reveals Cast and January Date
The official site for the television anime of Ippei Nara’s manga The Daily Life of a Single 29 Year Old Adventurer, known in Japanese as 29 Sai Dokushin Chūken Bōkensha no Nichijō, had plenty to share on Monday. It dropped the first full promotional video along with fresh cast, staff, and the artists behind the theme songs.
HoneyWorks is handling both themes. The opening song, “Kimi ga Tomoshite Kureta Hikari o Ima,” features Hanon, while the ending, “Kimi no Tonari Kūki ga Oishii,” features Kotoha.
On the cast side, Yuna Ogata joins as Olive Carmen and Kaori Maeda voices Natalie.

The story follows Shinonome Hajime, a seasoned adventurer and dungeon delver. After he rescues a girl named Rirui from being swallowed by a slime monster, he learns she has been abandoned by her parents with nowhere to go. Unable to leave her behind, he takes her in, only to discover she is far from an ordinary child.
Riki Fukushima, who worked on Skate Leading Stars, is directing and overseeing the scripts at studio HORNETS, with Yoshihiro Nagamori of the Beyblade series serving as main character designer. The anime is set to debut in January, and Crunchyroll will handle streaming.
As for the manga itself, Nara began it in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in January 2016, and the 20th volume arrived on September 9. It is also available on the Magazine Pocket service.
My take: A grizzled solo adventurer suddenly becoming a reluctant guardian is the kind of soft hearted setup I always fall for, and having HoneyWorks on both themes is a lovely bonus.
