To Your Eternity Season 3 Episodes 1 to 3 Review
Returning to To Your Eternity after several years has been a strange and moving experience. The first two seasons told a beautiful, mythic story of life, loss, and aching humanity, yet that emotional power was often undercut by clear production struggles across two different studios and teams. The show’s quiet, fantastical world asks for a level of artistry that those earlier runs could not always deliver.
The second season stumbled so badly in 2022 that I had honestly set the anime aside, half expecting to finish Fushi’s journey through the manga instead. So it is a genuine surprise to have the series back at all.
Fittingly, season three is a fresh start in every sense. In the story, Fushi has spent centuries in hibernation after the first great battle against the Nokkers, spreading his vines across the world and watching over the peaceful place he built until his loved ones can be reborn and reunited.
That theme of starting over carries behind the scenes too. Director Kiyoko Sayama and the team at Brain’s Base are joined by new co director Sōta Yokote and a co production crew from Studio Massket, which gives me real hope that this second half of the tale can finally be told as completely as it deserves.
The first three episodes show a lot of promise. The series has not quite reclaimed its absolute peak yet, but the renewed care is visible, and that is encouraging. To Your Eternity Season 3 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
My take: As someone who loves this story but felt let down before, I am cautiously hopeful. If the new team can match the writing’s heart with steady visuals, this could be the send off Fushi has always deserved.
