Kamen no Ninja Akakage Series Adds Cast and an Ending Song
The official website for the live action series of Mitsuteru Yokoyama’s Kamen no Ninja Akakage shared more details on Wednesday, including a new cast member, the ending theme, and a fresh key visual.
Hideyuki Kasahara, known from the live action Disastrous Life of Saiki K., joins the cast as a mysterious merchant named Oribe Tamon. On the music side, Wolf Howl Harmony of Exile Tribe performs the ending song, Marmalade.
The series premieres on October 26 and marks the second team up between TV Asahi and Toei, with the staff promising modern visual effects in a historical epic complete with grand scale monster battles.
It is led by Taiki Satō as Akakage, joined by Keito Kimura as Aokage, Ryō Katō as Shirokage, and Shūgo Oshinari among others, telling a Sengoku era tale of secret ninja.
With its premiere now days away, the production has steadily rounded out both its cast and its soundtrack.
My take: A mysterious merchant is a classic addition to any ninja tale, and the steady drip of details has me more curious by the week. I am still most excited to see how those monster battles look on screen.
