I Became a Legend After My 10 Year Long Last Stand Gets 2026 Anime
The light novel I Became a Legend After My 10 Year Long Last Stand is getting a television anime adaptation. GREE Entertainment has opened an official website for the project, sharing the core cast, staff lineup, and a first teaser visual. The series is set to premiere in 2026.
Three main cast members have been announced. Gakuto Kajiwara, known for Black Clover, will voice Luck Lock Franzen. Toshiyuki Morikawa, recognized for his work in Mushoku Tensei, is cast as Erik Imgard Mendirival. Tsuyoshi Koyama rounds out the main trio as Golan Morton.
Behind the scenes, Hiroyuki Kanbe is directing the anime at studio Gekkō. Mitsutaka Hirota, who worked on Edens Zero, is handling series composition, and Majiro, of Barakamon, is designing the characters. The production has a well rounded team with experience across action and fantasy anime.
The light novel follows a warrior who stayed behind alone to hold off an enemy force so his companions could escape, only for a decade to pass before anyone returned for him. By that point, his solitary struggle had already made him a legend throughout the land.
My take: The premise has a lot of heart underneath the fantasy trappings. A story about someone who held the line for ten years and came out the other side as a living legend sounds like it has real potential for both action and quieter emotional moments.
