Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero Reaches Switch and Switch 2 Nov 14
Bandai Namco rolled out a new trailer on Friday for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, the latest entry in the Budokai Tenkaichi style arena fighting series. The clip leans into a fun, live action presentation and shows off the motion controls coming to the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 editions.
Those console versions are set to launch on November 14. The game first arrived back in October 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC through Steam, where its Premium Collector’s, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions let buyers jump in three days ahead of everyone else.
Since launch, the roster has kept growing through downloadable content. Packs tied to the Dragon Ball Daima anime added characters like a Super Saiyan 4 Goku and a smaller Vegeta, while a separate “Hero of Justice” pack brought in eleven fighters such as Gamma 1, Gamma 2, and Orange Piccolo, plus extra stages and a free update with a new battleground.
There was even a special addition in Shallot, an original character that Akira Toriyama designed for the 2018 mobile game Dragon Ball Legends. By now the lineup is staggering, sitting at well over two hundred playable fighters once the early DLC is counted.
For modes, there is plenty to dig into. Episode Battle is a story driven mode told from eight different points of view, including Goku, Vegeta, and even Frieza, with branching “what if” paths. Players can also build and share Custom Battles, take the fight online, or play locally, though local matches are limited to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
My take: Bringing all this chaos to the Switch 2 with motion controls feels like a natural fit, and the roster is honestly absurd in the best way. If you have been waiting to play it on the go, November is shaping up nicely.
