Disney has shared another round of English dub casting for Disney Twisted Wonderland The Animation. The reveal came on Monday, just ahead of the dub’s launch later this month.

The dub for the first season, Episode of Heartslabyul, arrives on Disney+ and Hulu on October 29, the same day the anime itself premieres. Michael Sinterniklaas is directing at NYAV Post, joined by assistant directors Brittany Lauda and Stephanie Sheh, who is also handling casting. Reuben Lack is producing, Madeleine Morris is adapting the script, and Michael Archacki is on the mix, with recordists Luiz Gomez, Sebastian Franco, Justin Ramos, and Peter Iuretig.
The first season runs eight episodes, and the project is planned as three seasons in total. Each one adapts the manga that accompanies the original smartphone game, under the titles Episode of Heartslabyul, Episode of Savanaclaw, and Episode of Octavinelle.
On the Japanese side, Takahiro Natori is chief director and series script supervisor, while Shin Katagai directs at Yumeta Company and Graphinica. Yoichi Kato is the main writer, Hanaka Nakano and Akane Satō are designing the characters, and Takumi Ozawa, who scored the game, returns to compose the anime. The group Night Ravens performs the opening theme, Piece of my world.
The story begins when the main character is pulled into another world by a magic mirror and lands at Night Raven College, a prestigious magic school. With nowhere else to go, they accept protection from the school’s masked headmaster and slowly get to know its prickly but brilliant students while searching for a way home.
My take: Twisted Wonderland has a devoted fanbase for good reason, and giving it a full dub across three seasons feels like a real vote of confidence. I am curious to see how the game’s charm carries over to the screen.
