My Status as an Assassin Exceeds the Heros Anime Adds New Cast
The television anime adaptation of My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s has announced additional cast members ahead of its premiere. The series is set to begin airing on October 7 at 1:30 a.m. on TV Tokyo, with further broadcasts scheduled on BS Fuji and Animax.
Two new additions have been confirmed. Ayato Morinaga, known for his work in Übel Blatt, joins as Tsukasa Satou. Masaaki Mizunaka will voice Kyousuke Asahina. The two characters add to the growing ensemble of the story’s world.
On the production side, Nobuyoshi Habara is directing the anime at Sunrise. Kunihiko Okada is handling series composition, and character design is in the hands of Hirona Okada and Kaori Saitou. The Sunrise involvement is a familiar reassurance for fans of polished genre productions.
The story follows a high school student summoned to another world who discovers his assassin class carries stats that far exceed even the hero’s. The series adapts Matsuri Akai’s light novel, and with the premiere just around the corner, the full picture of the production is coming into view.
My take: There is a lot of room to have fun with an isekai built around an unconventional class, and this one has a solid team behind it. The Sunrise pedigree is encouraging, and the cast additions so far suggest the show is taking its characters seriously.
