Nintendo Opens Singapore Branch as Doug Bowser Steps Down From Nintendo of America

Nintendo has announced the establishment of Nintendo Singapore, a new regional entity aimed at growing the company’s business in Southeast Asia. Takahiro Miura will serve as supervising manager of the new branch. The move adds Singapore to a list of existing Nintendo regional operations that already includes branches in America, Europe, Australia, Korea, and Greater China.

The news coincides with a significant leadership change at Nintendo’s North American division. Doug Bowser, who has served as president of Nintendo of America since 2019, has announced his retirement from the company.

Devon Pritchard will succeed Bowser as president of Nintendo of America and will also take on a role as an NCL Executive Officer on the company’s board of directors. Pritchard steps into the position at a moment when Nintendo is actively expanding both its hardware lineup and its global organizational footprint.

Together, the two announcements reflect a company thinking carefully about its structure as it looks toward the next several years, both in established markets and in regions where it is still building presence.
