Dandadan 243 Spoilers: Yatagarasu Enters the Fight
The Dandadan 243 spoilers bring in the barber, and he steals the whole chapter. Chapter 243 is called “Yo, The Big Track Meet’s On”, which is a very Dandadan way to describe everyone sprinting from a monster. Evil Eye keeps swinging at the kaiju, Aira backs him up, and Yatagarasu turns up with a pair of enormous scissors. So here is the full run through.

Chapter 243 landed on August 10 2026 on Shonen Jump. Read it officially on MANGA Plus or Viz Media, where the newest chapters stay free for a while.
What you need from Dandadan 241 and 242
Only two things really matter going in. First, Evil Eye tamed the raptors and the crew has been riding them, while Aira dealt with the clown and then tangled with a cowboy newcomer. Second, a huge creature showed up and started eating the smaller dinosaurs.
In 242 the cowboy performed a ritual that let him steer the giant. Aira threw a vending machine at it, which did about as much as you would expect. Then the chapter closed with Evil Eye clinging to the thing’s neck.

Dandadan 243 spoilers: Evil Eye keeps swinging
Jiji is still up there, and he climbs higher to start punching the creature in the neck. He asks how it feels. The kaiju reacts the way anything would react to an insect, and swats him.

His friends genuinely think that killed him. Their faces sell it. However, Jiji is fine, and he pops back up running along the shoulder shouting at it to come and catch him.
Meanwhile the group works out something important. Hurting this thing is going to be very hard. So Aira tells Okarun she will stay and help Evil Eye, and sends him and Momo back towards the barber shop.

Yatagarasu takes over
On the way out they run into Yatagarasu. He is blunt about it, and tells Okarun he is being stupid for hanging around to fight over a girl. Then he tells them both to run, because what is coming is stronger than they are.

He is right. A yokai has taken a girl hostage, and it swings a huge pair of scissors at Momo and Okarun. Yatagarasu gets in the way and takes the hit for them.
What follows is the best fight in the chapter. His own scissors snap, so the yokai comes at him with raw force instead. Then he plants himself, catches the attack with his legs in a windmill, and gets close enough to place a seal on the girl. The seal destroys the yokai and leaves her alive.

In short, the barber is not a side character. He is a serious fighter, and he did all of that with broken equipment.
Momo gives Okarun an aura sword
The relief lasts about a page. Dragon knights appear and they are coming for Momo and Okarun. Yatagarasu says he will handle them, although he admits he still has to work out how to use the big scissors properly.
Then comes the ending everyone screenshotted. Momo tells Okarun to hold her hand. He does, and an aura sword forms in his grip. Therefore we now know something concrete about how these two work together. Momo can feed her aura straight into Okarun and arm him with it.

Dandadan 244 and 245 release dates
Chapter 244 has already arrived. It went up on August 17 2026, so if you are reading this after the fact you can go straight there. Dandadan runs on most Mondays, therefore chapter 245 is expected on August 24 2026 at 11am Eastern.
Both land on MANGA Plus and Viz at the same time, so there is no reason to touch a scan site.
Where the arc is heading
Two fights are running at once now. Aira and Evil Eye have the kaiju, and neither of them has found a way to actually hurt it. Meanwhile Yatagarasu has the dragon knights, and Okarun has a brand new weapon he has held for roughly one panel.
For the run up, read our breakdown of Dandadan 241 spoilers, where the kaiju first appears, and Dandadan 240 spoilers for the Jiji rescue that started all of this. Everything else sits in our Manga Spoilers section.
My take: Yatagarasu is the reason to read this chapter. Tatsu introduced a barber with silly hair and enormous scissors, and then had him beat a yokai using his legs after his weapon broke. That is exactly the tone this series does better than anyone. I also really liked the hand holding beat at the end. It could have been a cheap romance moment, and instead it turned into a power up that says something true about the pair, which is that Momo is the engine and Okarun is the blade. Evil Eye getting swatted like a bug and bouncing straight back up is a close second.
