Namidaame to Serenade Manga by Haruka Kawachi Is Ending in November
Haruka Kawachi’s manga Namidaame to Serenade is coming to an end. Kodansha’s Kiss magazine confirmed the series will conclude in its November 25 issue.
The manga follows a high school girl who accidentally travels back in time to the Meiji era. There she encounters a troubled young man and a mysterious girl who looks exactly like her. The series launched in Kiss magazine in 2014 and has produced 13 compiled book volumes over its run.
Kawachi is also the creator of Musashino Rondo, among other works. Namidaame to Serenade’s final volume will be available for readers who want to see the story through to its conclusion.
My take: Twelve years is a genuinely good run for a manga, and wrapping up with a proper ending is always preferable to an abrupt cancellation. Readers who have followed the series since the beginning have a real finale to look forward to.
