TOKYOPOP Manga Lands on MangaPlaza With a Points Promo
TOKYOPOP and NTT Solmare have announced that TOKYOPOP’s manga are now available on MangaPlaza, one of the largest digital manga libraries in the United States. The news was shared in mid October.
To mark the launch, MangaPlaza is running a generous points promotion across all TOKYOPOP titles, covering both manga and light novels. For a limited time, shoppers can earn up to 100 percent back in points on individual purchases, and more titles are set to join the platform in the future.
For a bit of background, TOKYOPOP has been a major force in the industry since 1997. The company helped establish the manga market in North America, popularized the word manga in English, and has published thousands of books across both English and German.
It has also been branching out, recently moving into live events and location based entertainment with NARUTO THE GALLERY.
MangaPlaza, for its part, has partnered with more than 120 publishers, which has helped it grow into one of the country’s largest digital manga services.
My take: The more places there are to read manga legally, the better, and a strong points deal makes it a great moment to sample TOKYOPOP’s catalog. I always love seeing a longtime publisher keep finding new ways to reach readers.
