Kill Blue Manga Gets a Novel With Secret Episodes
The official account for Tadatoshi Fujimaki’s Kill Blue manga revealed on Wednesday that the series is getting a novel adaptation. Titled Kill Ao Secret Report, or Kill Blue Secret Report, it is written by Kiyoko Hoshi.
The novel ships on December 4, the very same day as the manga’s thirteenth and final volume. It promises secret episodes that were never shown in the manga itself, making it a nice extra for fans saying goodbye to the series.
Fujimaki launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in April 2023, and it came to an end on September 1. The twelfth volume is due on November 4 ahead of that final release.
Viz Media publishes the series in English, both digitally and in print. The story follows Juzo Ogami, a legendary hitman whose name strikes fear even among other killers, right up until the day he wakes up trapped in the body of a teenager.
My take: A companion novel full of untold moments is a thoughtful way to send off a series. For anyone who fell for Juzo’s odd predicament, those extra episodes sound like a real treat.
