Pink & Habanero Manga Ends, Gets a Side Story in November
The 21st issue of Shueisha’s Margaret magazine wrapped up Mika Satonaka’s shoujo romance Pink & Habanero last week, publishing the manga’s final chapter. Happily for fans, it also revealed that a 20 page bonus side story will follow in the magazine’s 24th issue on November 20.
The fourteenth and final collected volume is set to ship on November 25, and Yen Press publishes the series in English.
The story follows Mai, a girl with no experience around boys and even less with love, who meets Kei Kurose when she starts high school. The two clash right away, since Kei is undeniably good looking but treats girls dismissively.
Mai has no patience for his rude attitude, until she stumbles onto a secret of his, a hidden part time job, and finds herself in a position where she has to earn and keep his trust.
Satonaka began the series in Margaret in 2021, and Yen Press has been steadily releasing it in English for readers abroad.
My take: A prickly enemies to something more romance is a reliably fun shoujo setup, and a bonus side story is a sweet way to say goodbye. It is always nice when a finished series gets one last visit with its characters.
