Magical Sisters Lulutto Lily Anime Introduces Its Full Cast
Bandai Namco Filmworks and Studio Pierrot pulled back the curtain on Tuesday on the cast and characters of Mahō no Shimai Lulutto Lily, or Magical Sisters Lulutto Lily, alongside a pilot film, a teaser visual, and an April 2026 premiere. Here is a closer look at who you will meet.
At the center are the Nonoyama sisters. Mei Tachibana voices Fū, a cheerful, easily excited elementary schooler who turns into the idol Lily Konpeto. Nao Ojika plays her older sister Rui, an earnest middle schooler who once loved to sing but grew reserved after a hospital stay as a child, and who becomes the idol Lulu Mashū.
They are joined by a pair of talking cats from the magical realm of Felix Star. Hiroki Nanami voices Uguisu, a blunt free spirit who is always grumbling about something, while Ai Kayano plays the calmer Azuki, who tends to charm its way out of trouble.
On the idol side, Fūka Izumi voices Tōko Kandachi, who started her own agency, Production Once More, and scouts Lily after spotting her potential. Fū Hirohara rounds things out as Sena Aozono, a classmate Tōko brings in to form a unit and chase stardom together.
Behind the scenes, Shintarō Dōge directs at Studio Pierrot and handled the original character designs, with Yūko Kakihara writing the scripts and Namiko Tori, Hirono Nishiki, and Asami Sodeyama on character designs. The story itself follows Fū and Rui as they each gain magic, transform into their dream adult selves, and secretly take up idol life, all under the rule that the magic lasts just one year and must stay hidden.
My take: The little character notes are what sell me here, especially Rui’s quiet history with singing. Two grumbling magical cats do not hurt either, and I think this cast has the makings of something really endearing.
