The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses Manga to End in Five Chapters
Kouji Seo, creator of Megami no Café Terrace, known in English as The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses, has announced on social media that the manga is nearing its end. The story will wrap up in five more chapters.
The 217th and final chapter is set to appear in Weekly Shounen Magazine on October 29, bringing the romantic comedy’s four and a half year run to a close. Seo began the series back in February 2021.
The manga has been a steady success, with around 2.2 million copies in print. Tezuka Productions adapted it into a television anime that ran for a first season in spring 2023 and a second in summer 2024, both of which Crunchyroll streamed with subtitles and dubs.
Kodansha continues to release the volumes, with the 21st arriving in mid October.
My take: Endings always carry a little bittersweetness, but a planned five chapter wind down means Seo gets to close the story on his own terms. After four and a half years and two anime seasons, the goddesses of the café have earned a proper send off.
