Lets Play Webcomic Returns on Tapas With Season 4 Planned
Leeanne M. Krecic, known to fans as Mongie, has announced that her romantic comedy webcomic Lets Play is coming to a new home on Tapas. The full first season launched on the platform on September 30, with three episodes going up every Wednesday. A fourth season is also in the works, though Mongie has said it will arrive once the anime adaptation has finished airing and the earlier seasons are fully available on Tapas.
Lets Play originally ran on WEBTOON from 2016 to 2022 across three seasons. During that time it became one of the platform’s most read titles, gathering more than five million subscribers and over 700 million total views. The series earned a nomination for Best Webcomic at the 2019 Eisner Awards, a strong sign of how warmly readers responded to the story.
The anime adaptation adds another layer of excitement to the series right now. Mongie has shared that she expects the show to run from fall through spring, spanning a total of 24 episodes. The simultaneous move to Tapas gives Lets Play a fresh platform to build on while the anime reaches a wider audience.
For readers looking to start from the beginning or revisit the story, Tapas is now the place to go. With weekly uploads and a new season on the horizon, there is a lot to look forward to over the coming months.
My take: Lets Play earned its audience one chapter at a time through years of genuinely heartfelt storytelling, so it is wonderful to see it land somewhere new with so much momentum. A fourth season alongside an ongoing anime sounds like a very good year for everyone who loves the series.
