Magical Sisters Lulutto Lilly Anime Sets April 2026 Debut
Studio Pierrot’s original magical girl project Magical Sisters Lulutto Lilly has finally shared a proper look at itself. The team put out a teaser trailer, new artwork, an official website, and social accounts, giving fans their first real sense of the staff, the cast, and the show’s look.
The story centers on two siblings, elementary schooler Fuu Nonoyama and her older sister Rui, who is busy with middle school. The two have started to drift apart when a mysterious spaceship turns up and grants each of them magical powers, letting them transform into the grown up versions of themselves they have always pictured.
There is a catch, of course. The magic only lasts a year and has to stay a secret. In their adult forms, both sisters end up working as idol singers, which makes hiding their double lives all the trickier.
Behind the camera, Shintaro Doge is directing and providing the original character designs, with Yuko Kakihara on series composition and scripts. The voice cast includes Mei Tachibana as Fuu and Nao Ojika as Rui, alongside Ai Kayano, Fuka Izumi, Hiroki Nanami, and others. Studio Pierrot and Bandai Namco Filmworks are producing.
The series is set to begin airing in Japan in April 2026, and the official site has gone live with a countdown and regular updates. It looks like a warm mix of classic magical girl charm and modern idol energy.
My take: Pairing a sweet story about sisters with the bittersweet rule that the magic only lasts a year is a clever hook. I have a soft spot for original magical girl shows, so I am glad to see Pierrot trying something new here.
