After the Rain Recap: The Sprinter and Her Manager

This After the Rain recap follows Akira Tachibana, a track star sidelined by an ankle injury, who takes a job at a family restaurant and quietly falls for her manager, a divorced man in his forties who apologizes too much and dreams too little.

It is a premise that could go wrong in a hundred ways, and the series avoids all of them. After the Rain is really a story about two people who lost the thing they loved, running for her, writing for him, and how an unlikely connection pushes each of them back toward it.

The recap covers the confession, the awkward almost dates, the old friend who reminds the manager who he used to be and the ending that chooses growth over romance without cheating either character.
