Cheat Skill Another World TV Special Comes in March 2026
The I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World anime is returning with a television special. Kadokawa announced at the Fantasia Bunko autumn livestream event that the special is set to air at the end of March 2026. A teaser visual and character setting images for two new characters, Yuty in her school uniform and Ken Sei the Fist Saint, were also revealed.
The returning cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as protagonist Yūya Tenjō, Akari Kitō as Kaori Hōjō, and Kaori Maeda as Lexia von Arcelia. Director Shin Itagaki is back at the helm alongside character designer Hiromi Kimura, and UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS is once again handling planning and production. The original anime premiered in April 2023 and ran for 13 episodes.
The story follows a boy who has spent much of his life being bullied and one day discovers a door leading to another world. That world grants him powerful abilities and a way to travel back and forth between the two realities, giving him a chance to change his circumstances on both sides. Yen Press publishes both the light novels and the manga adaptation in English. The light novel series has reached its 19th volume, which came out on October 18, and the franchise has 4 million copies in circulation.
My take: This is a fun isekai with a lot of heart, and a TV special feels like a good way to continue the story without the pressure of a full season. The March 2026 window gives the team enough time to make something worth watching.
