HBO Max Raises Its Subscription Prices Again
HBO Max announced on Tuesday that it has raised the price of its subscription plans, with the changes taking effect right away. The basic plan with ads moves from 9.99 to 10.99 dollars a month, the ad free plan from 16.99 to 18.49, and the premium plan from 20.99 to 22.99.
The yearly options have gone up as well, and the service remains available in a bundle with Disney Plus and Hulu, priced at 19.99 dollars a month without ads or 32.99 with them.
This is the third time HBO Max has raised its prices since it first launched, following earlier increases in February 2023 and June 2024.
For a bit of context, the service began back in May 2020 at 14.99 dollars a month. It carries content from a range of WarnerMedia brands, including Warner Bros., New Line, DC Entertainment, CNN, TNT, TBS, and The CW.
My take: Another price bump is never fun to hear about, especially with so many services creeping upward at once. It is worth taking a moment to check whether your plan still fits how much you actually watch.
