May I Ask for One Final Thing Anime Unveils Palmia Church Arc Cast and Promo
The official website for the May I Ask for One Final Thing? anime has revealed a new promotional video, visual, and additional cast for the upcoming Palmia Church Arc. The series is based on the manga by storywriter Nana Otori and illustrator Sora Hoonoki.
Two new cast members were announced: Kaori Maeda joins as Diana, and Shun Horie joins as Jin. Both characters appear to be key figures in the Palmia Church Arc storyline.
The anime began airing on October 3 on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV. Crunchyroll is streaming the series across North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS, and is also offering a same-day English dub. Amazon Prime Video has been simulcasting episodes as well, releasing each new chapter a week ahead of the television broadcast.
The show follows Scarlet, a noblewoman whose fiance Kyle calls off their engagement in public and falsely paints her as a bully. After years of tolerating his bad behavior she decides to fight back rather than accept the humiliation quietly. Director Kazuya Sakamoto is helming the production at LIDEN FILMS Kyoto Studio, with Deko Akao handling series scripts and Hinako Tsubakiyama composing the music. AlphaPolis publishes the manga in English digitally.
My take: The setup for this one is exactly the kind of cathartic wish fulfillment that works really well as an anime. Scarlet punching back against a man who spent years treating her badly is a satisfying premise, and the Palmia Church Arc sounds like it is adding some interesting new complications. If you have been enjoying the series so far, the new cast looks promising.
