The Other Worlds Books Depend on the Bean Counter Anime Adds Four Cast Members
The anime adaptation of The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter, the boys love light novel series by storywriter Yatsuki Wakatsu and illustrator Kikka Ohashi, has revealed four more cast members.
The newly announced voices are Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Julius, the eldest prince of the Romany Kingdom; Yuna Kamakura as Yua Shiraishi, a high school girl summoned to the other world as a saint; Takaaki Torashima as Ist, the deputy head of magic at the royal court; and Yūki Ono as Siegvold, a priest working at a church in the capital.
Yen Press is releasing both the light novel series and its manga adaptation in English. The story follows Seiichiro, a dedicated office worker who has spent nearly thirty years pushing himself hard every single day. Even after being pulled into a fantasy world through a saint summoning ritual, he simply keeps working. It is not until he meets Aresh, the Captain of the Knights, that Seiichiro finally begins to see that his endless dedication might be valued in a very different way than he expected.
My take: A boys love story that frames romance through the lens of a workaholic accountant finding his place in a fantasy world is a genuinely fun combination. The new cast additions fill out the royal court nicely, and I am looking forward to seeing how the ensemble comes together.
