No Home comes from creator Wanan and ran from 2018 to 2024, earning wide praise for its heartfelt look at youth, family, and belonging. Along the way it collected several honors, including the World Webtoon Awards Grand Prize in 2024, the Today’s Korean Comics Award in 2022, and a Minister’s Prize at the Korea Content Awards.
At its center are two young people forced to share an abandoned and reportedly haunted dormitory. The series is known for balancing the very real struggles of adolescence with quieter moments of healing and hope.
For the musical, Kyungrok Kim and Gunwoo Hwang will alternate as Haejun Go, a boy who can see ghosts, while Sungtae Cho and Yiwoon Jung share the role of Eunyoung Baek, a striking but wounded figure carrying hidden pain. The cast also features Hyunsun Yoon as Joowan Park, Yisol Hong as Mari Kim, and Yekyung Wi as Hara Kang. For now there is no official English version of No Home.
My take: Tender, character driven stories like this often shine on stage, and I love seeing webtoons reach beyond the screen. I just hope an English release eventually lets more readers discover it.
