OceanVeil Teams With Softgarage for Nine Retro Anime

OceanVeil, the new anime streaming platform from WWWave Corporation, shared on Thursday that it is teaming up with Softgarage to bring back a batch of older anime. The lineup pulls from the 1990s through the early 2000s, and every title except one is available to watch right now.

The collection spans a real mix of genres, from romance and slice of life to fantasy and action. It is a nice little time capsule for anyone who enjoys revisiting the look and feel of anime from that era.

The titles on offer are I’m Not Going Back Now, Boku no Sexual Harassment, Little Bunny Cue!!, Ren the Fairy Princess, Iczer Girl Iczelion, Moekko Company, _summer, and Hourglass of Summer. A few of these lean toward mature audiences, so the platform’s age ratings are worth a glance before you press play.

Rounding out the announcement is Starlight Scramble, listed as coming soon rather than available today. It is the one holdout in the group, so fans will need to wait a little longer for that one to arrive.

My take: I always love it when older titles get a second life on a streaming service. Preserving anime from this period matters, and it is great that more of it is becoming easy to watch again.
