Marry Go Round Manga by Karino Takatsu to Conclude at Volume 4
The third compiled volume of Karino Takatsu’s manga Marry-Go-Round revealed that the series will conclude with its fourth and final volume.
The manga centers on Mari Kazama, a man who suffered a serious setback in his career as a private tutor. Determined to learn something meaningful from the experience, he moves into a shared house focused on marriage prospects and takes on work as a teacher. The twist is that the other residents are people who have no real interest in getting married at all.
Takatsu launched Marry-Go-Round in Young Gangan in March 2023. She is perhaps best known for her earlier series Working!!, which ran in Shonen Gangan from 2005 to 2014 across 13 volumes. That series inspired three television anime seasons and a spinoff anime. The first two seasons were released in North America under the title Wagnaria!! by NIS America, while Aniplex of America handled the third season and the WWW.WAGNARIA!! spinoff.
My take: Four volumes feels on the shorter side, but there is something appealing about a tightly told story. Takatsu has a real gift for comedic ensemble casts, and a house full of people at a marriage-focused living arrangement who all quietly refuse to get married sounds like exactly the kind of setup she does well.
