Fatal Fury City of the Wolves Previews Chun-Li With New Videos
SNK dropped a character breakdown video and a collaboration trailer for Chun-Li’s upcoming arrival in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Jennie Kwan voices the character in English while Fumiko Orikasa handles the Japanese performance. Chun-Li is set to join the game in winter 2025 as part of Season Pass 1.
The Street Fighter crossover in City of the Wolves includes both Ken and Chun-Li. Ken already launched as a playable character on August 3. The season pass also includes MR. BIG, who is scheduled to arrive in early 2026. The game has been rolling out DLC characters throughout the year, with Andy Bogard in June and Joe Higashi in October also having joined the roster.
City of the Wolves launched on April 24 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The base roster brought back mainstays like Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, Mai Shiranui, and Billy Kane alongside new fighters Preecha and Vox Reaper. The game also featured some unusual additions including real life DJ Salvatore Ganacci and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The game is the first new Fatal Fury entry in over 25 years. The previous mainline title, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, came out in arcades in 1999. The franchise has deep roots in anime history as well. Three OVAs were produced in the early 1990s including Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf, Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle, and Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture. All three feature character designs by Masami Obari and have been released in North America by Discotek Media.
My take: Chun-Li in a Fatal Fury game is still a little surreal but it has been genuinely fun to watch SNK lean into the crossover potential. The character breakdown videos look great and Fumiko Orikasa brings real weight to the role. If you have been on the fence about City of the Wolves, the Season Pass content has been adding up nicely.
