Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37 Release Date and Hiatus
Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37 is not coming in August. The series is on a rare break, and the chapter now lands in September. So here is the new date, what we actually know about the hiatus, and a recap of chapters 35 and 36 to get you ready.

Boruto Two Blue Vortex 37 release date
Chapter 37 arrives in V Jump issue 11, which goes on sale on September 18 2026 in Japan. Readers outside Japan get it a day earlier, on September 17, at around 11am Eastern.
One correction worth making, because it trips people up. Two Blue Vortex runs monthly in V Jump, not in Weekly Shonen Jump. In English you read it on Viz Media and the Shonen Jump app, which is where the naming confusion comes from.
Chapter 37 was originally due on August 20. Therefore the break has pushed it back by roughly a month.
Why Boruto is on hiatus
Shueisha has not given a reason, and that is the honest answer. No health statement, no explanation, just a skipped month.
What we can say is that this is unusual. Two Blue Vortex started in August 2023 and has run without a break since, so the series is hitting its three year mark with an almost unbroken record. Mikio Ikemoto draws it and Masashi Kishimoto writes it, and a monthly schedule is still a monthly schedule.
Anything beyond that is guesswork. You will see people online claiming exhaustion or a health problem, and none of that is confirmed. Because there are no spoilers or leaks for 37 yet either, there is genuinely nothing else to report.
Chapter 35 recap
Chapter 35 opens on the odd friendship between Hidari and Jura. Hidari asks why Jura saved him. Jura cannot really explain it, and lands on the idea that he would have been alone otherwise. Eida listens in and finds the whole thing corny.

Then we learn Hidari likes kittens, which is a very funny thing to learn about him.

Meanwhile Sarada gets new glasses, and Boruto meets her outside the village. She apologises for the cut she left near his eye. He tells her it gave his face some character.
Then he asks her for something dangerous. He wants Code to capture her, so he hands her a marker that will lead him straight to her. He also tells her not to lose her nerve.
Elsewhere Amado builds Kawaki a new scientific ninja tool and reminds him not to get cocky. Amado also sends Inojin to deliver data to Kashin Koji. The scroll turns out to be bait, Kawaki appears behind Koji, and Amado’s plan closes around him.
Chapter 36 recap
Chapter 36 is mostly a conversation, and it is the best part of this stretch. Amado has Kashin Koji in restraints, and he is enjoying himself far too much.

Koji can receive information about future timelines. However, the updates arrive at long intervals, and Amado has worked out that this gap is the real weakness. So he offers to shorten it, which would let Koji see new futures faster and dodge danger sooner.

He also frames himself as a parent to Koji, because he made him. Then he asks the question that actually matters. Has Koji ever seen a future where Kawaki carves a Karma into Amado’s daughter? Koji says no. Amado unlocks the cuffs and lets him walk.
That answer is the hinge of the whole arc, because Amado is still trying to bring his daughter back, and he has just been told the future does not forbid it.
In the village, the elders move against Shikamaru. They call Boruto a traitor, accuse the Hokage of siding with him, and start talking about removing him from the seat. Sai is appalled. Shikamaru, for his part, gets word that a chakra resembling Jiraiya’s has entered the village, works out it is Kashin Koji, and orders it kept classified.

The chapter ends where it hurts. Sarada is alone in a quiet alley when Code finds her. He pins her down and takes the marker Boruto gave her, because he followed her deliberately after sensing Boruto’s energy. Boruto arrives, sees the tool lying on the ground, and realises Code read the plan the whole time.

What chapter 37 should cover
Two threads are hanging. Boruto’s decoy plan has failed with Sarada in the middle of it, so the fallout comes first. Then there is Koji, walking free with a faster line on the future than anyone else has.
Fans are also watching for Sasuke, who is still sealed in the tree. Nothing official points at his return in 37, so treat that as hope rather than news.
Where to read Boruto Two Blue Vortex
Read it officially on Viz Media and the Shonen Jump app. New chapters go up shortly after the Japanese release.

My take: A one month break after three years is not a crisis, and I wish the reaction online reflected that. Ikemoto has drawn this thing every single month since 2023 while carrying a fanbase that never stops telling him he is not Kishimoto. He can have September. What I am actually impatient about is Amado. Chapter 36 quietly told us his daughter is still the engine behind everything he does, and that he just got permission from the future to keep going. That is a far more interesting villain than Code, and I hope 37 remembers it.
