Dragon Ball Super Creator Officially Confirms New Project
While the future of Dragon Ball remains unclear, the co-creator of the recent manga is getting ready to branch out of the Dragon World. Toyotarou, the co-creator of the Dragon Ball Super manga, will release a brand-new work isolated from the Akira Toriyama franchise.
Toyotarou, who wrote and illustrated the Dragon Ball Super manga with the late Toriyama, announced his new solo project at this year’s Japan Expo, which ran from July 3, 2025, to July 6, 2025, in Paris, France. At the panel, a giant Qr code appeared on a screen, directing attendees to an online site containing 45 draft pages of Toyotarou’s new work. This new manga, currently titled The Lost Samurai, will be a special one-shot release set in a fantasy depiction of feudal Japan. The preview is available on the V-Jump magazine website.
