The Case Book of Arne Anime Premieres January 6
The vampire mysteries are nearly here. The team behind the television anime of Game Magazine’s mystery game The Case Book of Arne, known in Japanese as Arne no Jiken bo, shared a wealth of details on Sunday: a main promotional video, a key visual, the main cast, the theme song artists, and a January 6 premiere.

On the music side, the singer Sou performs the opening theme “Q.E.D.,” while singer songwriter Watashi Kobayashi handles the ending, “Ningyō no Machi,” which translates to Doll Town. Fittingly, Takeaki Wada, who composed the original game’s theme, arranged that ending song.
As for the cast, Mariya Ise voices Luis Hartman, Kōki Uchiyama plays Arne Neuntöte, Aimi Tanaka voices a younger Arne, and Yuka Nukui rounds things out as Lynn Reinweiss.

The anime premieres on January 6 on NTV and other channels late at night, with AT-X following on January 7. Keisuke Inoue, known for My Next Life as a Villainess, is directing at SILVER LINK and writing the series alongside Murasaki, who handled the game’s scenario. Akiko Satō of Trigun Stampede is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director, with Yoshiaki Fujisawa composing the music.

The source game was made by the team Harumurasaki and launched on Game Magazine’s website in November 2017. It follows the unlikely duo of vampire detective Arne Neuntöte and Lynn Reinweiss, a noble’s daughter who adores vampires, as they team up to crack bloody murder cases. A manga adaptation by Soraho Ina also ran in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Gene from 2018 across four volumes.
My take: A vampire detective paired with a girl who is delighted rather than frightened by him is a charming twist on the mystery formula, and SILVER LINK feels like a good home for it.
