The anime follows Coco, a young girl who dreams of becoming a witch. After accidentally turning her mother into stone, she becomes an apprentice and sets out to master magic to undo her mistake.
Produced by Bug Films and directed by Ayumu Watanabe, the series includes Hiroaki Kojima as producer, Kairi Unabara as character designer, and Yuka Kitamura as music composer. Crunchyroll will stream the anime worldwide outside Asia.
Based on Kamome Shirahama’s manga of the same name, Witch Hat Atelier has been running in Kodansha’s Morning Two magazine since July 2016 and currently spans 14 volumes. The series also inspired a spin-off titled Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen, which began in November 2019. Kodansha USA handles the English release of both titles.
