Observation Records of My Fiancée Anime Reveals Cast and Staff

The official site for the anime Jishou Akuyaku Reijou na Konyakusha no Kansatsu Kiroku, known in English as Observation Records of My Fiancée: The Misadventures of a Self-Proclaimed Villainess, has unveiled its main cast and staff. The adaptation of Shiki’s comedy romance novel is set to premiere in 2026.

Yuusuke Kobayashi, familiar from Re:Zero, stars as Cecil Glo Alphasta, with Miyu Tomita of Kaguya-sama fame voicing Bertia Ibil Noches.

Junichi Yamamoto directs at Ashi Productions, with Akiko Inoue handling series composition, Miki Matsumoto on character designs, and music from Yuuki Hayashi and collaborators.

The premise plays on the popular villainess trend with a twist. Bertia is convinced she is the villainess of an otome game and is determined to play that role to the fullest, while her fiancé Cecil simply observes her cheerful misadventures with affection. Shiki began the novel online in 2016, and AlphaPolis has published it with illustrations by Hachipisuwan, along with an ongoing sequel series.

My take: The villainess genre is crowded, but framing the story through the fiancé’s fond observation is a sweet angle. With two charming leads voicing the couple, this could be a warm and funny take on a familiar setup.
