Senren Banka Anime Adaptation Announced for 2027
Visual novel fans got a long awaited answer this summer. Yuzu Soft announced during its Songfes 2026 event that Senren Banka, one of its most beloved titles, will receive an anime adaptation premiering in 2027.
From visual novel to screen
Senren Banka is set in the hot spring town of Hoori, where protagonist Masaomi ends up bound to the shrine maiden Yoshino after an incident involving a legendary sword. The story blends folklore, romance and small town charm, and its heroines have been fixtures of popularity polls since the game’s release.
Yuzu Soft adaptations have momentum right now, with previous works making the jump to television and finding audiences well beyond the original player base. Senren Banka was consistently the most requested next step, so the announcement landing at the studio’s own song festival felt like a promise kept to the fandom.

My take: Visual novel adaptations live or die on patience, because the source material is all conversation and atmosphere. Get the pacing right and this one could be a sleeper hit of 2027.
