WEBTOON Debuts at LightBox Expo 2025 This Weekend
WEBTOON is appearing at LightBox Expo for the first time, joining the 2025 edition of the show. The event runs from October 24 to 26 at the Pasadena Convention Center in California.
While there, WEBTOON is hosting a set of panels led by creators and editors, all aimed at helping both new and working artists grow their place in digital storytelling.
Featured creators include Purpah of Suitor Armor, GRAVEWEAVER of I’m the Grim Reaper, ROSEOAK of Not So Silent, and Ucheomaaa of Vibe Check!. They plan to talk about turning creativity into a steady career, balancing art with the business side, and reaching readers around the world.
Editors and producers behind series such as Lore Olympus, Osora, The Mafia Nanny, and unOrdinary will also lead talks on what makes a comic stand out, covering everything from art styles to character development and story structure.
Two panels anchor the lineup: Creator to CEO: The Rise of Webcomic Entrepreneurs on Friday, October 24 at 4:45 p.m. PDT in Room 204, and Telling Stories That Stick: What Makes a Comic Stand Out on Sunday, October 26 at 1:15 p.m. PDT, also in Room 204. LightBox Expo itself centers on artists working across film, animation, games, television, and illustration.
My take: It is lovely to see webcomic creators getting a real stage at an event like this. Panels that mix craft with career advice can mean a lot to artists who are just starting out.
