Viz Reveals a Big Slate of New Manga Licenses for 2026
Viz Media announced a large batch of new manga and novel licenses on Friday, with most of them lined up for summer 2026. There is a real spread of genres here, so there should be something for almost everyone.
A few names jump out immediately. Alice in Borderland Retry, by Haro Aso, is an official sequel to the survival series that became a hit Netflix show, picking up with Arisu building a new life that Borderland is not quite ready to let go of. Daydream Darling comes from Io Sakisaka, the best selling creator of Ao Haru Ride, and promises a tender story about first love. There is also The Marshal King, a high octane Wild West adventure from Boichi of Dr. Stone fame.
Fans of bigger franchises are covered too. The list includes a Sakamoto Days novel called Assassin’s Method, the standalone Star Wars: Visions story Tsukumo about an Imperial droid hunting a Jedi after Order 66, and an Assassin’s Creed Shadows tie in titled Tales of Iga.
Rounding out the slate are titles like Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi, Psych House, Cocoon, Shinobi Undercover, Taika’s Reason, I’m No Angel, and Half Is More, along with continuing volumes of ongoing favorites such as The King’s Beast and Moriarty the Patriot.
My take: Announcement lists like this are a quiet thrill, since any one of these could become someone’s next favorite. The Alice in Borderland sequel and a new Boichi series are the two I am most eager to get my hands on.
