‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess’ 2nd Season Anime Reveals Theme Song Artists – News
Season 2 is on the way, and the music is now confirmed. Here’s a calm rundown of what we know so far, plus a quick thought of my own at the end.
It looks like the Princess and her surprisingly kind captors will be back before long, and we finally know who’s behind the music this time. The opening theme for the second season will be performed by the K pop group ILLIT, while the singer and songwriter Yuika handles the ending theme.
As for timing, the new season is currently planned for January 2026. In Japan it’ll air on Tokyo MX, BS11 and Kansai TV, with ABEMA carrying it a little early. For everyone watching from elsewhere, Crunchyroll will be streaming it across most regions, so most of us should be able to follow along without much trouble.
There’s a new addition to the cast as well: Mutsumi Tamura is joining as Sakura Heartrock, alongside the returning voices.
If you’re new to the series, the first season aired back in January 2024 and ran for twelve episodes, made by the studio PINE JAM and based on the manga by Robinson Haruhara and Hirakei. The premise is a gentle one. A captured princess is “tortured” by the demon army with things like wonderful food and long, lazy naps, and that easy, low stakes comedy is the whole charm.
My take: Personally, I think this is one of the more relaxing comedies around, so I’m glad it’s getting another season. Bringing in ILLIT for the opening is an interesting choice too. It feels like the show might be reaching for a slightly bigger audience this time, and I’m genuinely curious to see how that lands. Either way, I’ll be watching.
I’ll put together a full breakdown once it’s out.
