Invisible Man and His Soon to Be Wife Anime Hits January 8
Pony Canyon shared a batch of updates on Friday for the anime adaptation of Iwatobineko’s manga The Invisible Man and His Soon to Be Wife. The news included a January 8 premiere date, a new visual, and additional cast members.
The freshly announced voices include Tomohiro Ōno as Karma, a cheerful dark elf who runs a specialty tea shop, and Kaori Ishihara as Light, a gentle white elf who helps manage the shop alongside her husband Karma.
The anime debuts on January 8 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX and BS NTV, with later broadcasts on Sun TV and KBS Kyoto, and Pony Canyon confirmed it will stream worldwide from January. It had originally been planned for a 2025 release.
Mitsuho Seta directs the series, with music by Ruka Kawada. Mao Abe performs the opening theme, while Kaori Ishihara also lends her voice to the ending song.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English. It follows Yakou Shizuka, a quiet and bashful woman who works at a detective agency run by her kind, dapper boss Tounome, a gentleman with one very unusual trait: he happens to be invisible.
My take: A sweet office romance with a literally invisible love interest is such a charming, gentle hook. It sounds like exactly the kind of cozy, lighthearted series I enjoy curling up with.
