The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess Blu-ray Adds Two Special Episodes
Fans of the upcoming anime The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess have a nice bonus to look forward to. Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine has revealed that the Special Edition Blu-ray will include two original episodes adapted from short stories not part of the television broadcast.
The two specials carry charming titles that translate roughly to Yomi, Jealousy, and Happy Birthday and A Bad Case of Butler Fever. The disc ships in Japan on April 3, 2026.
The series itself debuts on October 8 on TV Tokyo and BS11, with Crunchyroll streaming it across most of the world. Studio DEEN handles the animation, with music by Ryuichi Takada and an opening theme from KID PHENOMENON.
The premise is delightfully relatable for anyone who cringes at their younger self. Konoha is mortified by the elaborate fantasy story she wrote in middle school, and when her mother nearly discovers it, she panics, dies in an accident, and wakes up reincarnated as the very villainess from her own embarrassing tale. Yen Press publishes the manga in English.
My take: Being reincarnated into your own cringeworthy teenage writing is such a wonderfully funny and human premise. Bundling extra episodes onto the Blu-ray is a kind gesture to fans, and those playful special titles already have me smiling.
