A Tale of the Secret Saint Anime Reveals New Cast Including Tomokazu Sugita for April 2026
The television anime of A Tale of the Secret Saint (Tensei shita Daiseijo wa, Seijo de Aru Koto wo Hitakakusu) revealed additional voice cast members, with the series still on track for an April 2026 premiere. The anime is adapting Touya’s action fantasy light novel series.
Among the newly announced cast are Tomokazu Sugita voicing Quentin Agata, Tasuku Hatanaka as Desmond Ronan, and Daiki Hamano as Zachary Townsend. The previously announced production team remains in place, with Tomoe Makino directing at Felix Film, Deko Akao overseeing series composition, Satomi Kurita on character design, and Kenichiro Suehiro composing the music.
The original light novel by Touya began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in January 2019 before Earth Star Entertainment picked it up for print publication with illustrations by chibi, releasing the eleventh volume in March 2025. A manga adaptation by Mahito Aobe has been running in Comic Earth Star since December 2019, reaching twelve volumes in March 2025.
Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing both the light novel and manga adaptation in English. The eighth novel volume came out July 29, 2025 with the ninth due December 9, while the ninth manga volume was released July 1, 2025 and the tenth is planned for November 25.
My take: Tomokazu Sugita has a knack for playing characters who feel weighty and significant even when they are not on screen all that much, so his casting as Quentin Agata is an interesting choice. The voice cast overall is shaping up well for what sounds like a story with a lot of interpersonal dynamics to carry.
