Psychic and Judo Duo Star in Chojo’s 2026 Anime
Super Psychic Policeman Chojo is officially getting a television anime, with a premiere set for 2026. Junichi Yamamoto is directing the project at Arvo Animation, joined by Hayashi Mori on series composition and scripts and Masakatsu Sasaki on character designs.
Created by Shun Numa, the comedy centers on a mismatched police duo. Meguru Chojo brings psychic powers to the job, while his partner Nao Ippongi is a formidable expert in judo, and together they make for an entertaining odd pairing.
The manga earned real recognition during its run, placing third in the Print Manga category of the Next Manga Awards for 2025.
Published by Shueisha, the series debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2024 and wrapped up with its eighth and final volume in September 2025. Viz Media has licensed the physical volumes for English readers.
With its short but well liked run now complete, the upcoming anime gives the story a fresh chance to reach an even wider audience.
My take: Pairing a psychic with a judo champion is a wonderfully silly setup for a buddy comedy. It is great to see a series that placed so well in the awards get the anime it clearly earned.
