Studio Ghibli Releases Cozy New Socks for Autumn

With the weather turning cooler, Studio Ghibli has released a cozy new collection of socks featuring some of its most beloved characters. The lineup draws from films like My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Kiki’s Delivery Service, with enough variety that picking just one pair will be the hard part.

The softest of the bunch is the Soft Marshmallow Crew range, priced at 990 yen a pair, each embroidered with a single character on the outside. Options include the little white Totoro, Jiji the cat from Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Hin from Howl’s Moving Castle.

For extra warmth, there are fleece lined Kiki’s Delivery Service socks featuring Jiji, described as so cuddly you may never want to take them off.

Totoro fans are especially well served. The Warm Room Socks come with an anti slip underside and thick, insulating fabric, in both Small Totoro and Soot Sprite designs, while the longer Blanket Socks reach up the calf with charming autumnal Totoro artwork.

Prices range from a modest 880 yen up to 1,650 yen, making them an affordable little bit of comfort for the season.

My take: Honestly, this is dangerously tempting. Cozy character socks are the perfect small indulgence for chilly evenings, and I would happily fill a whole drawer with these.
