Solo Leveling Will Be Challenged by Eleceed in 2026
While A-1 Pictures outperformed itself by releasing two seasons of Solo Leveling anime in back-to-back Winters, as it stands, the animation studio has yet to announce the series’ third season. As concerning as it may seem to the fans, it does not mean that A-1 Pictures isn’t working on the anime; it only means that the studio isn’t prepared for the anime’s return anytime soon, at least not in 2026.
That said, all is not lost, as fans will have a wide variety of anime to watch in 2026. Especially, those fans who love manhwa turned into anime like Solo Leveling, will have another big release to look forward to in 2026, as DandeLion Animation Studio is set to adapt WEBTOON’s No.1 Battle-Action series Eleceed into an anime.
Eleceed Anime Set for 2026 Premiere
Unfortunately, while A-1 Pictures generously treated Solo Leveling fans for two years, the animation studio has yet to announce the anime’s third season. This means that fans should not expect Solo Leveling season 3 to release in 2026. To make matters worse, given the absence of an announcement, chances are that it may take a couple of years before production on the same even begins.
Nevertheless, fans need not worry, as in the meantime, they are set to be treated to another manhwa turned anime called Eleceed, set to release in 2026.
While the story’s premise is indeed very different from that of Solo Leveling’s, the Eleceed manhwa has been named WEBTOON’s No.1 Battle-Action series, meaning that it could very well compete with the A-1 Pictures anime, let alone become its successor.
This is what Eleceed’s manhwa creator Jae-Ho Son (story) had to say about its anime adaptation announcement:

While all factors, including the anime’s first teaser, point toward the manhwa receiving a good anime adaptation, there is still some time before its impending release. Hence, a lot could change as we inch closer to the anime’s premiere. For now, fans can only hope that the adaptation turns out at least as good as Solo Leveling’s.
What Is Eleceed Anime About?
Eleceed, written by Jae-Ho Son and illustrated by Hye-Jin Kim, centers on Jiwoo Seo, a kind-hearted young man who, terrified of his own powers, conceals his abilities from everyone. However, everything changed the day he rescued a battered stray cat. To his surprise, it wasn’t an ordinary cat, but the most powerful Awakened being alive, Kayden.
Kayden is a secret agent on the run who, after getting gravely injured, had no choice but to transfer his consciousness into a cat to survive. So, until he recovers and becomes a human again, Kayden starts living with Jiwoo and forms an unlikely partnership with him.
This fateful encounter draws the two into the world of powerful Awakened organizations, forcing them to fight against evil forces dead set on ruling the world. Hopefully, the two can together change the world around them.
