Solo Leveling Studio’s Underrated Dark Fantasy Anime Loses Only Streaming Home Next Month
A-1 Pictures has been behind several major anime shows, including the wildly popular Solo Leveling. Unfortunately for fans of the studio’s work and light novel related to Type-Moon properties, one of these anime is about to leave the world’s biggest streaming service.
Released in 2017, the anime adaptation of Fate/Apocrypha by A-1 Pictures is almost a decade old. Sadly, it’s one of several programs set to leave Netflix in the next month. This thankfully gives fans enough time to watch the entire thing, though it’s an unfortunate loss given Netflix’s growing anime dominance.
Type-Moon’s Fate/Apocrypha Anime Set to Leave Netflix Next Month
It’s now been revealed which of the many movies, TV shows and anime on Netflix are set to leave the streaming service at the beginning, middle and end of the month of November. Most of these are live-action films and shows from the West, with relatively few anime currently on the list. One major exception to this, however, is Fate/Apocrypha, which was made by the same studio behind the anime adaptation of the novel and manhwa Solo Leveling. Originally airing in 2017, it is itself an adaptation that’s based on the light novels of the same name. These novels are part of the broader Fate universe by Type-Moon, with this franchise having numerous video games, manga, light novel and anime entries.
Fate/Apocrypha has 25 episodes altogether, with these being split into two “seasons” on Netflix. Unfortunately, all episodes are scheduled to leave Netflix on Nov. 7, 2025, with the anime being unavailable to legally stream anywhere else in the U.S. (as of writing). The anime Fate/Extra Last Encore is also currently on Netflix, although there doesn’t seem to be any sign of this leaving the platform in the near future. Meanwhile, A-1 Picture’s biggest hit to date, Solo Leveling, is exclusive to Crunchyroll and thus unavailable to stream on Netflix in the U.S. However, Netflix’s live-action Netflix Solo Leveling drama is currently in production, with casting for some of its main characters already announced.
