May I Ask for One Final Thing Anime Adds New Cast Members
The television anime adaptation of May I Ask for One Final Thing? has revealed two new cast members along with a third promotional video and an updated key visual. The show, based on Nana Ootori’s action comedy light novel series, began airing on October 4 on Tokyo MX, with broadcasts following on BS 11 and Gunma TV.
Kaori Maeda, known for her work in Uma Musume Pretty Derby, joins the cast as Diana. Shun Horie, familiar to viewers from So I’m a Spider, So What?, voices the character Jin.
The anime is being produced at LIDENFILMS under the direction of Kazuya Sakamoto. Deko Akao is handling series composition and writing the scripts, Eriko Haga designed the characters, and Hinako Tsubakiyama is composing the music.
Ootori originally began writing the story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou platform in April 2018. AlphaPolis picked it up for publication under its Regina Books imprint, with illustrations by Satsuki, starting in August 2018. The sixth volume came out on July 10, and the series has now reached a total of 2 million copies in circulation. A manga adaptation by Sora Hoonoki has been running on the Regina platform since June 2019, with the tenth volume published on October 10. AlphaPolis licensed the manga for digital release in English back in July 2021, and the ninth English volume arrived on September 26.
My take: May I Ask for One Final Thing? has been quietly building a solid readership over several years, and the anime production team looks thoughtful. It is the kind of series that tends to find its audience gradually, and I think it has a real chance to do that.
