Crossed Hearts Announces Three Korean Manhwa Licenses for 2025 and 2026
A new California-based publisher called Crossed Hearts has announced its first three titles, all Korean manhwa. The company is bringing Baroness Goes on Strike, From a Knight to a Lady, and The Archduke’s Adopted Saint to worldwide English print editions. Both Regular and Limited editions will be offered at the same price, so readers everywhere can access the collectible versions without paying extra.
Baroness Goes on Strike is a regression themed historical fantasy from storywriter Ko Eun Chae and artist Song Yeseul, a series that already has more than 42 million readers worldwide. Readers in the UK, India, and the Middle East can pick it up starting October 26, with Australia and New Zealand following on October 28 and North America and Latin America on November 25.
From a Knight to a Lady, a work by the creator known as Ink, follows Estelle, a loyal knight who is killed by a trusted subordinate and wakes up inhabiting the body of a noblewoman in the enemy empire. Now living as Lucifela Aydin, she must navigate court politics, an unwanted engagement, and the ongoing mission to uncover the truth behind her homeland’s fall. The series is planned for an English debut in January 2026.
Crossed Hearts describes itself as a global publisher focused on Japanese manga, Korean webtoons, and Asian novels, with plans to launch over 30 series in 2026. This trio of manhwa represents the opening act of what sounds like a very ambitious publishing slate.
My take: Equal pricing across Regular and Limited editions is a genuinely reader-friendly decision that more publishers could stand to follow. Baroness Goes on Strike already has a devoted audience, so the physical debut should be a warm welcome for fans who have been waiting for a print version.
