Marriagetoxin Anime Officially Announced with First Trailer: WATCH
Shonen Jump keeps the hits coming with a hilarious action/romcom hybrid, Marriagetoxin, on the way. While there were initial leaks suggesting its production, an official X account for the upcoming anime unveiled its announcement along with a teaser preview. As confirmed, the video slates Marriagetoxin’s anime for a 2026 release.
Marriagetoxin began its run on Shonen Jump+ on April 20, 2022, with a fascinating twist on assassins and their elaborate methods. The series remains ongoing today, with this anime confirmation helping it follow in the footsteps of other Jump+ hits like Spy x Family, Hell’s Paradise, or most recently, Dandadan. The Marriagetoxin anime will be produced by Bones Film.
Marriagetoxin Anime Produced by Bones Film Is Coming in 2026
As detailed by the teaser video, Marriagetoxin will be produced by Bones Film, the collective group of studios behind hits like My Hero Academia, Bungo Stray Dogs, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and more. Starring Poison Clan assassin Hikaru Gero, the series follows his misadventures alongside marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki to help find him a bride.
Gero’s story begins as his clan urges his sister to get married so she can produce an heir. However, as she is in a committed relationship with her girlfriend, Gero is put on the spot, despite being utterly hopeless in the dating world. This is where Kinosaki comes in, whom he recruits to help him find a fitting marriage partner.
Kinosaki and Gero’s first meeting is not by any means a conventional one, as the former was originally a target for Gero to kill. However, with knowledge of Kinosaki’s various secrets under the surface and incredible talents for seduction, Gero knew he needed all the help he could get.
Marriagetoxin Could Bring Assassin Comedy Anime to a New Level
While the hype for Sakamoto Days initially died down after season 1’s first half, Marriagetoxin seems to have the right components to succeed as a similar concept. Gero is an engaging protagonist who is equal parts relatable yet absurdly weird, with a love for DIY candy kits being the first quirk fans may notice.
Even just in the first few episodes, Bones Film could nail a Marriagetoxin anime thanks to its absurd assortment of themed assassins. Early debuts include a shark-riding assassin specializing in water-related techniques and a mysterious assassin who uses bugs to carry out his bidding. With 141 chapters and counting, the series has plenty of material beyond one full season.
The Marriagetoxin anime’s announcement confirms that Haruki Ishitani will voice Hikaru Gero, while Shion Wakayama will voice Mei Kinosaki. Beyond a release window of 2026, there is no further information to confirm a more specific date. But fans will want to keep their eyes peeled, and to follow Marriagetoxin’s official X account for any new updates.
