Ikyou no Tsume Nuri Minarai Nail Painting Isekai Manga Gets Anime Adaptation
Shufu to Seikatsusha has announced that Marukawa’s manga Ikyou no Tsume Nuri Minarai (Apprentice Nail Artist in a Foreign Land) is getting an anime adaptation. The isekai fantasy manga has been running in Comic PASH! since March 2022 and currently has six volumes in Japan, with the sixth releasing on October 3, 2025.
The story follows Keiko Sahara, an ordinary office worker with a passion for gel nails, who suddenly finds herself transported to a world where magic works through nail painting. In this new world, specialists called Nail Painters cast spells by applying magical materials directly onto nails. Keiko stumbles into an apprenticeship and begins building a new life there, working alongside the eccentric master sorcerer Rocco, his apprentice Hou, and her nail painting mentor Lido.
It is a workplace fantasy in a very literal sense, following Keiko as she learns her craft and navigates life in a magical realm she never expected to call home.
Tokyopop licensed the manga in English this July and is planning to release the first volume on April 7, 2026.
My take: The concept of magic through nail painting is genuinely creative, and workplace isekai tends to be a relaxing genre when it is done well. The idea of someone’s real world hobby becoming their whole career in another world is a fun angle that makes this stand out from the usual isekai setup.
