Majogami Launches October 30 on PC, Switch and Switch 2
Inti Creates has shared a fresh trailer for its upcoming game Majogami, and it finally comes with a release date. The studio began streaming the video on Friday, giving fans a first proper look at how this 2D action platformer plays.
The big news here is the timing. The PC version on Steam will arrive on October 30, and it lands on the very same day as the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions. So whichever platform you favor, everyone gets to jump in together.
Majogami is described as a paper craft character action game, and the story has a quiet emotional hook. You follow Shiroha, a young woman who has lost her memories, as she travels alongside Shiori, her father, who has somehow been turned into paper.
In play, Shiroha leans on an ability called Setsuna to take on enemies, and you gather cards across each level that grant her different powers. She can also call on the strength of the guardians to shift into new fighting forms, which keeps the combat feeling varied.
The trailer also previews the gameplay and characters, and the game arrives with a sizable voice cast bringing its cast to life.
My take: The paper father premise is the kind of strange, tender idea that tends to stick with me, and letting everyone start on the same day is a genuinely kind touch.
