Komada: A Whisky Family U.K. Blu-ray Will Be Released on Monday – News
On Monday October 6, Anime Limited will release a Collector’s Blu-ray (pictured) of the feature film Komada – A Whisky Family, as well as a standard Blu-ray. The Collector’s Blu-ray will include three art cards, an eight-page “magazine article” styled booklet with information about the film, and an A3 poster.
The film centres on Rui Komada, the young head of her ailing family whisky distillery. She took over the distillery after the death of her father. Facing financial difficulty, a divided family, and the aftermath of natural disaster, Rui takes it upon herself to reforge her family’s bonds by reviving the family’s signature Japanese whisky.
Masayuki Yoshihara (The Eccentric Family, Mai no Mahō to Katei no Hi) directed the film at P.A. Works. Yukito Kizawa and Munemasa Nakamoto, who both worked extensively on scripts for the Monogatari series and Sword Art Online franchise, penned the screenplay. Tomomi Takada, a veteran P.A. Works key animator and inbetweener, drew the original character design concepts, while Kousuke Kawazura (The Eccentric Family) designed those characters for animation, while also serving as chief animation director. Tatsuya Katō composed the music. DMM is credited as producer. GAGA Corporation is distributing.
The film is the fifth installment of P.A. Works‘ “workplace” series about people and their jobs, after Hana-Saku Iroha, Shirobako, Sakura Quest, and The aquatope on white sand.
MVM will release a Collector’s Blu-ray of Fate/Grand Carnival, containing a 16-page booklet. This is the two-volume original video anime project for the Fate/Grand Order game. As Carnival Phantasm parodied Tsukihime and Fate/stay night characters, Fate/Grand Carnival parodies many of the character relationships and stories from Fate/Grand Order.
The anime’s 30-minute “1st Season” Blu-ray Disc and DVD went on sale in Japan in June 2021. The 30-minute “2nd Season” Blu-ray Disc and DVD was originally slated to ship in August 2021, but was delayed twice due to production issues, and eventually shipped in October 2021.
Akira Sekine played Ritsuka Fujimaru. Most of the other cast members reprised their roles from the various Fate/Grand Order and Fate projects. Many of the staff members also worked on the similar Carnival Phantasm project:
Crunchyroll will release a Blu-ray edition of I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince So I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability. Kodansha USA Publishing licensed the manga, and it describes the story:
Prince Lloyd wasn’t always a prince…in fact, his previous life is one he remembers perfectly: he was a sorcerer, of sorts. So when he was forced to reincarnate, he decided to continue his studies, prince of the realm or no! But his new life has its own sets of challenges…including being a 10-year-old! What’s the 7th prince/sorcerer to do?!
Jin Tamamura (The Girl in Twilight) directed the anime at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab. R.O.N (STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION) composed the music for the anime. Naoki Tozuka (Meiji Gekken: 1874) handled the script, series composition, and art management. Yuuichi Abe (Dimension High School) was the action director.
Kenkyo na Circle premiered the series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelists) website in October 2019. Kodansha began publishing the light novels with illustrations by Meru in July 2020. Yōsuke Kokuzawa and character designer Meru launched a manga based on Kenkyo na Circle‘s novels in Kodansha‘s Magazine Pocket app in 2020.
Crunchyroll will release a Blu-ray of the series Days With My Stepsister. The novels centre on Yuta Asamura, whose parent gets remarried when he is in high school and he gains a new beautiful younger stepsister, Saki Ayase. Saki is also the #1 student in her grade. Both of them have some knowledge on male-female relationships through their parents, and in order to not cause discord in the family they agree to be not too confrontational but not too compromising either, with a moderate amount of distance between them. Saki is starved for familial love but repeatedly tries to be alone, and Yuta is bewildered at how to be a proper older brother. They gradually learn to become comfortable with each other.
Tsutomu Ueno directed the anime at Studio DEEN. Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero, Bibliophile Princess) was in charge of the series scripts, and Manabu Nii (Akiba Maid War, The Day I Became a God) designed the characters. CITOCA composed the music at one cushion, inc and Nippon Columbia.
Kadokawa published the first novel in January 2021. Yumika Kanade is drawing a manga adaptation.
Crunchyroll will also release Collection 38 of One Piece on Blu-ray and DVD, carrying episodes 917 to 940. The set is described as follows:
“Stuck in a prison camp and shackled with ability-blocking cuffs, Luffy wreaks havoc with Kid before being forced into a sumo tournament with increasingly powerful opponents. Elsewhere, Sanji’s soba cart puts him in Page One’s crosshairs, Nami spies on Orochi, and Zoro fights to take Shusui back – before word of Tonoyasu’s scheduled execution spreads to the Straw Hats.”
